Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected crossover event that defies usual predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Revealed
According to the official release, "A strange meeting pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of banned practices and terrifying transformations echo through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a clandestine cult.
The adventure concentrates on "strange experiments and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Metamorphoses
The teaser features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a powerful moment showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Bonus Features
Players who finish the quest will receive an unique katana together with several objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Update
This patch also adds the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery." This playful quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature skills: Naoe debuts a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks hardly the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with well-known anime series. The series formerly included a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla informally featured a quest that unmistakably nodded to the famous series One-Punch Man.
